Principal Staff

A Legacy of Leadership and Achievement

The Centre has been shaped by the leadership of distinguished scholars who have contributed significantly to its growth. Under the guidance of previous Deans and Heads of Department such as Prof. Elis I. Idemobi, Prof. Godwin U. Akam, Prof. Vincent N. Ezeabasili, and Prof. Onyech Leonard Uzoka, the Centre has navigated various challenges and achieved remarkable milestones. These leaders have played pivotal roles in establishing the Centre’s reputation as a hub of entrepreneurial excellence.

One of the Centre’s significant milestones was the development and implementation of a curriculum that aligns with the National Universities Commission’s (NUC) strategy for sustainable entrepreneurial development. This curriculum has been instrumental in producing graduates who are not only job-ready but also capable of creating job opportunities, thereby contributing to the broader economic landscape.

Achievements and Impact

The Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies has made notable strides in promoting entrepreneurial education. Through its robust research initiatives, innovative teaching methods, and active industry partnerships, the Centre has successfully bridged the gap between academic theory and practical application. The Centre’s graduates have gone on to establish successful businesses, contribute to policy-making, and drive social change across Nigeria and beyond.

Vision for the Future: 2030 and Beyond

Looking ahead, the Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies has set ambitious targets. By 2030, it aims to be recognized as a leading model Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies not only in Africa but also globally. This goal will be achieved by fostering an enabling entrepreneurial environment, driven by cutting-edge research and immersive learning experiences.

Mission and Philosophy: A Commitment to Excellence

The Centre’s mission is clear: to proactively provide a stable framework for the research, teaching, and learning of entrepreneurial processes, structures, environments, and individuals. This mission is grounded in the commitment to national development and is aligned with the NUC’s strategy for sustainable entrepreneurial development. The Centre’s philosophy is centered on values of innovation, resilience, and community impact, guiding every aspect of its operations and ensuring that it remains at the cutting edge of entrepreneurial education.
